SOURCE:   Magnolia grows in the Southern states of the US, ranging into eastern Texas

DESCRIPTION:   Fine textured, Moderately dense. Excellent machining qualities; turns very smoothly. Heartwood pale to light brown, sometimes with a greenish cast, displaying occasional mineral spots. It is closely related to the wood we know as yellow poplar.
